Registration: Great Durham Bake Off: Gingerbread Edition!

Join us for another Great Durham Bake Off with a twist: Its the Gingerbread House LIVE COMPETITION Edition!

On Sunday December 7, thirteen contestants will face off at Queeny’s in a no-bake off (this time it’s all about the looks!) in a gingerbread house building extravaganza, hosted by your very own Paul Dollywood.

If you want to compete, use this form to sign up – Contestant Entry Fee is $10. There are ONLY 13 contestant spots available (a baker’s dozen).

How it’ll work:

Contestants will have one hour to make the most stunning (or weird or funny or interesting) gingerbread house they can using the supplies provided. Each contestant will be able to bring ONE decorating-related element from home to use on their creation. The competition is all about looks this time around so contestants will need to wow the crowd aesthetically to win.

Contestants must arrive onsite at Queeny’s by no later than 3:00 PM on Sunday December 7 to participate.

The day’s breakdown:

• 3pm contestants arrive and get set up, do not start building

• 3:30pm Paul Dollywood intro and competition kick off

• 3:45ish: 1 hour timer starts! Contestants have 60 minutes to create (public can join to watch!)

• 4:45ish: Buzzer sounds! Paul Dollywood and crowd to judge creations, winner announced and prize gifted!

• 5ish: Event wraps, but folks can linger. Contestants may keep their houses OR leave them to remain on display at Queeny’s through the holiday season!

How to Enter

You can submit your entry form by completing this purchase. It’s only $10 to enter but spots are limited to 13 competitors.

Your entry includes:

• gingerbread structure materials like precut gingerbread shapes

• icing

• gumdrops, candy canes, and other assorted candies

• a table and area set up for decoration

• a hot glue gun and copious amount of hot glue if you don’t have one or are unable to provide your own! (this is about LOOKS! icing takes time to dry so for more intricate details and lasting structures we suggest use of hot glue).

Prize

Winners will receive a years worth of bragging rights and a $50 gift card to one UV Hospitality location of their choosing: Queeny’s, Kingfisher, Killer Queen, or QueenBurger.

Contestant spots are limited. Please do not pay the entry fee if you do not intend to participate or are uncertain if you will be able to attend.
